Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Japan

It was like a scene out of a disaster movie, but it was reality as hard as it can hit. First an 8.9 magnitude earthquake, then the giant merciless wave that swept away all that came in its way. Coastal villages and farmland were washed away. There was talk about a missing ship carrying 100 passengers, and also a train is reported missing. Today we learned that there has been an explosion in a nuclear plant and thousands have been evacuated.

More than 1,000 people are confirmed dead. Thousands are not accounted for. I can’t even begin to understand what the people are going through with death and devastation all around them.

And, again, the social media have played a huge role in informing, searching for and consoling people. We all feel affected.

Disaster relief teams from other countries are on their way to assist in the search and rescue. The Japanese are efficient people. Villages will be rebuilt and lives will go on. There will be a time to mourn and remember loved ones.

Today, our thoughts and prayers are with you, Japan.
