It’s a long way to Tipperary

Day 13 at NaPoWriMo: Write a poem inspired by fortune cookies. I wrote some thoughts that could be translated into a poem:

When a fortune cookie informs you that it’s a long way to Tipperary, you might let out a Jeez. It’s not like you expect to find a clue to the next step hidden inside the cookie when you are desperately or secretly waiting for a new avenue to reveal itself, but Tipperary? Come on. Right? Giant steps, on the other hand, predict me giant steps that I will soon take, with Aha! moments of light bulb magnitude waiting around the corner.

Occasionally, a fortune cookie might remind you that one step forward is better than one step back, and notify you ever so kindly that you are headed the wrong way or the right way, the one to Tipperary. Which is a small town in Ireland, by the way. The long road to Tipperary is the road home. We like to hear that, and that is one reason why you will open a cookie next time as well. Just in case.

Or, you may just learn from the fortune cookie that definately is spelled definitely. Also good to know.
